Saya sendiri sempat menanyakan kesiapan Honda sini bila mau menjual PCX 125, karena Seperti kita ketahui bersama-sama Honda sedang dalam fokus mengejar dan merebut segmen skutik di tahun market 2010.

Salah satu sasaran tembak utamanya merketing skutik Honda tahun depan adalah Yamaha Mio yang masih merajai penjualan di tahun 2009 ini. Nah Honda pasti gemezz minta ampun sama produk skutik yamaha yang satu itu. Mau mengalahkan Yamaha Mio berarti harus memenangkan mind set yang telah lama tertanam pada Konsumen terhadap skutik yaitu mungil, lincah, dan satu lagi yang paling pentingg . . . dek depannya Rataaa. Sebenarnya Honda udah menyelami mind set ini, mangkanya dirilis Honda Beat sebagai Jawabannya . . . Gimana Hasilnya . . . yaaa.. lagi proseslah , tapi sudah kelihatan kok Honda mulai menebar ancaman yang bila tidak ditanggapi serius Yamaha akan menghasilkan pukulan yang signifikan ditahun market ke depan.

Saya Yakin, dengan Mendatangkan PCX 125 bukan merupakan strategi Utama Honda untuk mengeser singgasana raja Skutik lama. PCX 125 adalah sosok skutik premium . . .marketnya pun bukan market entry level, melainkan market premium. Udah gitu Motor ini terlalu jauh dari mindset konsumen tentang skutik yang fungsional. Bodynya gambot, dek nya nggak rata . . .Walaupun harganya dipangkas menjadi sekitar katakanlah 16-18 juta sekalipun maka kemungkinan akan susah untuk diterima kebanyakan konsumen skutik yang sudah kadung terprogram oleh mindset yang dibangun oleh sang first mover.

PCX 125 cukuplah ditempatkan sebagai sebuah Flag Ship belaka untuk membuktikan bahwa Honda cukup digjaya di sektor produsen skutik. Sekali lagi saya Yakin . . .bukan ini strategi utama Honda. Akan ada strategi lain, bisa berupa strategi pencitraan dengan iklan-iklan yang masif dan mengakar, maupun strategi product battle dengan membuat sosok produk baru atau pun update SIGNIFIKAN produk yang telah ada sehingga menjadi lebih bertaring di era yang mungkin akan menjadi era berdarah-darahnya marketing skutik.
