All two variants sported the engine from the current Pulsar 200 DTS-i with the motor tuned to produce a maximum power of 19PS as against 18PS in the current model. Apart from the slight increase of power, the bikes had a lot of visual variation. The first bicycle was fitted with clip-on handlebars, a rear disc brake & bigger front forks – all borrowed from the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. This upgrade definitely looked promising with the street fighter character of the bicycle being upped with some useful bits. The second variant was a ditto copy of the P220 except that this two sported an all-black engine & alloys. The bicycle sported the P220’s fairing as an addition apart from the front forks, rear disc & clip-on handlebars. The quarter fairing provided on the bicycle seemed to kill the urban fighter picture of the P200. The third variant was similar to the second without the rear disc brake.
Bajaj Auto had announced a launch of new bicycle every month for the first two months of 2009. After the January debut of the XCD135, no motorbike was launched in February. However, Bajaj did unveil two variants of the Pulsar 200 at a Probiking showroom in Pune. The bikes were displayed for the enthusiasts to pick the best option among the two. This was done as the company planned to finalize the facelifted version of the Pulsar 200 based on this survey.
Apart from the Pulsar 200, the showroom guys also said that a facelifted version of the P180 will hit the market which will sport the looks of the current P200. The Pulsar 220 is expected to be launched with a better tuned engine & a slight increase in power and an all-black treatment to the engine & the alloys. Survey officials said that Bajaj was planning a price tag of Rs 77,000 (approx. OTR, Pune) for the first P200 variant. The variant which was an exact copy of the P220 may debut at a price of Rs 79,000 (approx. OTR, Pune).
Bajaj launched its new variant of XCD bike. The new Bajaj XCD 135 is equipped with 135cc DTS-Si engine. The bike is fully loaded and is aimed at the customers in the value segment looking for a sporty alternative, it will have many first-in-class features like a 135cc DTS-Si engine, a 5 speed gear box, auto choke, gas filled Nitrox absorbers, digital speedometer and LED tail lamps. Other significant features, include electric-start and front disc-brake.
Bike Bajaj XCD DTS-Si 135cc engine gives out 10.2PS of peak power at 7500rpm and a maximum torque of 11.58Nm at 5000rpm. Interestingly bike gives a sporty style statement. As per news, the new XCD 135 DTS-Si has slightly longer wheelbase than older XCD. It will be available in 5 colors and decal option available, which the consumer can choose from.
