QUE LUGAR TE FAZ SENTIR EM CASA? - WHERE DO YOU FEEL AT HOME?

Com a minha participação na Tertúlia Virtual deste mês, o Leaves of Grass volta à ativa. O tema é "Que lugar te faz sentir em casa?"

With my participation this month on Tertúlia Virtual, Leaves of Grass just return. The theme is "Where do you feel at home?"

Vendo as fotos destes últimos anos, vejo quantas árvores plantamos no nosso jardim e pomar: Sibipirunas, Flamboyant, Chuva de Ouro, Cedros, Pinus, Jaboticabeiras, Mangueiras, Lichias, Abacateiros, Pitangueiras... Foi bom rever essas fotos antigas e sentir que realmente a minha casa é a minha zona de conforto, é nela que me sinto em casa!

At home I feel safe and protected, comfortable in my skin, I feel at ease, owner of my time and space... Even this would be a subjective sensation. This theme gave me an idea to seeking old photos of my house. I found many old photos and seeing all them I did a voyage to the past. My house was constructed in 1976 and all around there were only natives's trees, like Barbatimão (Stryphnodendron barbatiman Mart.), Cambará (Gochnatia polymorpha), Golden Trumpet Tree, Tabebuia impetiginosa and many bush species. Now, looking to my garden and orchard areas I can see how many trees we have been planted: Sibipiruna (Caesalpinia peltophoroides), Flamboyant Tree, Rain of Gold, Cedar, Pinus, Jabuticabeira, also called Brazilian Grape Tree, Mango Tree, Lychee, Avocado, Surinam Cherry or Brazilian Cherry... It is so nice to see those old photos and I feel that my house is my comfort zone. Really, I feel at home here!

MY HOUSE IS FOR ME, THE BEST PLACE OF THE WORLD!

Every 15th of each month, the blog EXPRESSO DA LINHA, from Portugal and VARAL DE IDÉIAS, from Brazil, set a question. Today the question is: "THE BEST PLACE OF THE WORLD"

My answer is: For me, my house is the best place of the world! In my house I feel myself safe, warm and cozy.

And about you? What is "The best place of the world?"

WALKING AROUND MY NEIGHBORHOOD

Atualização para participar do Ecological Day, hospedado pelo blog Caliandra do Cerrado

There is not much interesting going on these days. I just don't have much to post and nothing worth mentioning... So, today I post some photos from our everyday walking around. I hope I don't bore you all too much with those photos, because I guess you had been seeing those landscapes many times... I need so much alternative views and to see others horizons for a change....

MY HOUSE AND IT'S VIEW

This beautiful tree in my garden is a native tree from Brazil, named Canafístula or Chuva-de-Ouro (means in English "Rain of Gold"). The Cassia ferruginea, from the family Leguminosae-Caesalpinoideae, bears the most flagrant flowers, which are arranged in hanging racemes. The flowers appear in October, November and December.

View to the back of the house. This tree with red fruits is a Pitanga Tree, in Portuguese, Pitangueira. (Click on green link to go to other page)
