Jaguar E-Type Roadster - Classic Cars

Jaguar E-Type Roadster - Classic CarsJaguar E-Type Roadster - Classic Cars

This top quality example has been owned by one of our regular customers for the past ten years. The car was purchased from the E-Type Centre in 1999 and has covered around 9,000 miles since. Some of this mileage includes touring of the South of England and general weekend use.

Originally the E-Type was distributed by British Leyland New York in Silver with red leather upholstery. The car was dispatched on the 2nd April 1970 and returned to the UK in 1999. On arrival back in the UK, the car was converted to RHD and restored in a sense that the US side marker lamps were removed and the car re-sprayed in metallic silver. Three SU Carburettors and a UK spec distributor were fitted and the low geared American final drive was exchanged for a 288:1 ratio differential giving 25mph/1000rpm in top gear making the car ideal for motorway driving and long distance cruising. The interior appears entirely unrestored and is really in lovely order. The seats are well patinated but serviceable and carpets are very good. The E-Type comes with hard top and a new fabric hood that was fitted in 2005.

A trace from Jaguar Heritage confirms that the colour of the car is correct as are the engine, chassis, gearbox and body numbers.

The car has a beautiful appearance with lovely straight panels, a superb paint finish after ten years and bright chrome. The interior is very honest and the car is fantastic to drive. This would make a fabulous long distance tourer as the car is just a pure pleasure to use and enjoy.
